• The River of Doubt - Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey (2005) - by Candice Millard
• Walking the Amazon: 860 days (2012) - by Ed Stafford. (Ed holds the Guinness World Record for being first person to walk the length of the Amazon River.
• Man Who Swam the Amazon (2007) - by Martin Strel.  Martin holds the Guinness World Record for longest swimming journey.
• Mother of God, An Extraordinary Journey into the Unchartered Tributaries of the Western Amazon (2014) - by Paul Rosolie.
