This will be my second trip south of the equator.  My first was Tanzania, in 2004.
(Tanzania is 3° S.  Lima is 12° S, and Iquitos is 3° S .)

I fly into Peru's coastal capital of Lima.

As of this writing, South America has 14 countries and 414 million people.
